UPDATE: WE ARE HAPPY IN OUR NEW HOME IN ALASKA!!!
Azshara & Voodoo
Birthday: Feb 2017 & Dec 2019
Azshara is a finished champion and a spayed female who is a little over 6 years old. She came back to due the owner's needing open heart surgery and not being able to take care of all of her dogs any longer. She came back with another basenji named flyer, who is 11 going on 12 in January. He is also available, but he has been separated from her and is living at my parents house. She is crate trained. She failed as a lure coursing dog because she just came back to me, wouldn't run a full course and only ran straights to run back to her owner!! She would make someone a great companion once she got to know her new owners! Her previous owner also used both her and Flyer as service dogs and took them places like doctor's appointments etc.
Azshara has been bunked with one of my intact males and they have spent some time bonding with each other, So I would like to place Azshara and Voodoo as a pair if possible. She baroos pretty big when she is happy and relatively happy to be someone's lap dog.
Voodoo is a finished field champion and also a specialty winner just like Aszhara. He will be 4 in December. He only needs 5 singles to finish his championship and it would be awesome to finish him but I don' t have the time or energy to get his last few points and would rather see him go into his own home. He is currently not neutered, but I think he would be better of being neutered, so the new owners will be able to neuter him, and not required to keep him intact. He has been in the top 10 KC lure coursing rankings the last few years and he has a lot of prey drive and will exercise himself in the yard and just about does nothing but run back and forth in the yard especially if he sees other stuff running around outside the yard. Had he not been bunked with Azshara and bonded with her, I would have required him to be an only dog, because he can be nasty on the fence line and go after his friends. He doesn't hold grudges against them, but the other dogs don't like him because of his nonsense. Him and Azshara have bonded during the time spent at my house and she has put him into place a few times, so they seem to do so well together, that I would love to place these two together as a bonded pair!! Voodoo also baroos and is pretty friendly with people. His biggest "quirk" is his prey drive.
Both are currently up to date on their Rabies & 5 way vaccines.
